Braiins

Braiins

Braiins is a software company focused on Bitcoin mining. It develops firmware for mining hardware, as well as protocols and software for aggregating hashrate from miners worldwide. Honza Čapek and Pavel Moravec founded Braiins back when only a handful of enthusiasts were interested in Bitcoin. As co-creators of Slush Pool, one of the world's first mining pools, they became some of the original Czech Bitcoin pioneers. Alongside this, they developed one of the first operating systems for Bitcoin mining devices in Rust. Today, it’s the company's flagship product, used by hundreds of thousands of customers around the globe. Now a team of over 120 enthusiasts, the company's vision is to build a full-stack ecosystem for Bitcoin mining—from the operating system and mining pool to its own custom ASIC chips and hardware. People are at Braiins for Bitcoin, which they believe is the cornerstone of the future of money and transactions.

WE ARE BUILDING A BITCOIN MINING ECOSYSTEM

BRAIINS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO BE RIGHT NOW!

Our vision is to build Braiins into a full-stack ecosystem for Bitcoin mining, from A to Z. We don’t follow trends; we set them. We’re at the forefront of Bitcoin development, ranked among the top 10 mining pools, and our Braiins OS is world-class.

Today, we design our own hardware and develop our own chip: simple, efficient, and secure. We do this not because it sounds good, but because we believe Bitcoin deserves uncompromising tools. We were there when it all began—Bitcoin pioneers from Czechia and global players who have been in the game for 14 years. That’s almost as long as Bitcoin itself.

Braiins is a brand people trust. To many, we are a guarantee of quality, transparency, and a long-term vision. We are not a flash-in-the-pan startup that will collapse at the first market shake-up. We have a backbone. And we have moral integrity, both to our business and our community.

BITCOIN IS FREEDOM

Freedom is our ultimate value. Bitcoin is freedom. And it is this deep belief in freedom that is the essence of how we operate. At Braiins, we value the personal liberty of every individual. This means people can work whenever, from wherever, and however they choose—without having to ask for permission or report to anyone.

It also means giving people the space to do what they are passionate about and what they excel at. For us, freedom is the ability for anyone to bring an idea to the table or to disagree with anything—even an opinion from the CEO or owners—and to voice it openly.

Just as Bitcoin is built on freedom, so is Braiins. That’s why we look for people who value freedom and take it seriously.

WE THRIVE ON DIVERSITY

Here, you'll find diversity and variety. It comes from the fact that we operate globally, have a remote team from all over the world, and are open to anyone who wants to join us and work on something truly meaningful.

Because of this, you’ll meet an incredible mix of people—from a colleague who speaks fluent Chinese to another who transitioned while at Braiins and never had to think about leaving the company. That’s something we believe is truly special.

You'll work with people from every corner of the globe, and that’s not just a nice perk—it’s something that enriches us all.

SPEED WITHOUT THE RED TAPE

There’s nothing more frustrating than having the core of your work buried under useless processes, administrative tasks, and all the other clutter that makes no sense and just slows you down.

Our market moves fast, and we can’t afford to waste time on things like filling out work-from-home forms. We need to focus on what keeps us relevant and on the cutting edge. Of course, with 120 people, we need some structure to stay efficient. But we always make sure our systems are there to support us, not to create obstacles.

We’ve tried things that have crashed and burned. And that’s perfectly fine—it teaches us what we don’t want. It's also why our culture is a great fit for people coming from large corporations, where they found that pointless bureaucracy was a hindrance, not a help.

We give you a lot of freedom, we trust you to do your best job, and we expect that you will do your best job. And if you are struggling or missing something, say it, we’ll solve it.

Eli Nagar, CEO

I need people to challenge me, too. Just because I'm the boss doesn't mean they can't give me negative feedback. I need people who want to fix things—people who, when something's wrong, will point it out and want to correct it. Even if it's not their job, they do it because they want to help the company improve.

Iryna Bashkova, Support Team Leader

No one micromanages or hassles you, and when you need help, you get it from all across the company. I appreciate the freedom and the fact that I'm learning a lot of new things.

Sabina Mácha, Graphic Designer

STATE OF THE ART

"Come build something no one has ever built before." That's our appeal to the biggest skeptics, academics, and people who need a truly massive challenge to even consider a new opportunity.

Out-of-the-box thinking is our default. We constantly question our own methods, always looking for a better way. We build software that is perfectly optimized for its hardware, all to maximize mining efficiency.

Here, you'll find people who want to create things that have never existed and help leave the next Czech mark on the world of Bitcoin. We are a top-tier team that goes head-to-head with US firms—and we are always pushing forward.

One of the most important metrics for me is that people feel their work is meaningful and that there’s a good atmosphere around the office.

Honza Čapek, Co-owner

SEE A BETTER WAY? MAKE IT HAPPEN

When we hire the best people and give them the best conditions, they can—and will—do their best work. Whatever you need to excel, whether it’s a better keyboard, new technology, or support from colleagues, we’ll provide it. All you have to do is ask. Or to put it another way: we expect you to ask.

At Braiins, we want you to take the initiative. We want people who actively look for what’s broken and how we can do better. This isn’t a place to hide and coast. You come to Braiins to work hard, innovate, improve, and challenge your colleagues and the status quo.

The best ideas here don’t come from the top down. They come from people who aren’t afraid to speak up—and who can stand their ground in a tough debate.

SELF-DRIVEN COMPANY

Braiins is for people who love complex problems, seek out challenges, aren’t afraid to build things from scratch, and don’t wait to be shown the way. Here, you’ll find people who want to solve difficult problems, build from the ground up, and are comfortable with the fact that there's often no one to ask for answers—because the answers don't exist yet. You don’t follow the manual here. You write it.

We build products that have little competition globally, at least not at the level of quality we deliver. We have clear goals, and we pursue them relentlessly. To achieve them, we need people who take full ownership of their tasks, dive deep, and design the best path forward themselves.

NO BARRIERS, JUST RESULTS

At Braiins, we want—and need—people who perform at their absolute best. We don't put obstacles in their way. On the contrary, we go out of our way to make sure they have everything they need to excel.

Want a standing desk? You got it. Plants for the office? Of course. Tools, conferences, books—whatever you need to do your best work, we’ll provide it.

In return, we expect you to know what you’re doing—and why you’re part of Braiins.

Sometimes, people want to join us to escape the corporate world and try something “different.” They quickly discover that around here, it’s obvious when someone isn’t pulling their weight. We’re a close-knit team, so coasters get noticed fast. Our culture isn’t the right fit for those who are uncomfortable with direct pressure for results and a high degree of personal responsibility.

WE ARE GEEKS AND ENTHUSIASTS

Tell us what you do in your free time, and we’ll tell you if you’ll fit in here. You don’t have to be a die-hard Bitcoiner—and definitely not a “crypto person.” We aren’t really interested in the wider crypto world. What we care about is Bitcoin. And technology.

Our hardware folks love getting their hands dirty with soldering and circuitry. A Braiins person has a passion—for anything. If you love technology so much that you go home after your corporate job to code your own side projects, you’re our kind of person.

And if you spend your evenings learning a new language, growing carnivorous plants, or rock climbing on weekends—or any other hobby that drives you—we want to hear about it. Braiins is for people who know how to be passionate and live for what they love.

It's the mindset of people who are genuinely passionate about IT, technology, and Bitcoin—and not because there's a lot of money in it. We are true enthusiasts; we're programmers, not coders. Programming has very little to do with just writing code. It's an intellectual and creative pursuit, and we have to think hard about how to design the most intelligent solution to any given problem.

BITCOIN ROCK & ROLL

Our goal is to be the one-stop shop for Bitcoin operations and a full-service organization for miners. Our approach to marketing? We establish our expertise by publishing books about Bitcoin. We see it as the stable technology that provides the foundation for everything. We've been around almost as long as Bitcoin itself, and when it comes to mining operating systems, we set the industry standard. We have a strong global reputation and a team of top professionals who are respected throughout the community. Our products are market-proven, making us a trusted partner—and that matters. We deliver real, tangible value to miners, and that’s what drives us. We’re building a better future. And you can be part of it.

MICRO TRIBES

Every team at Braiins is different. Each has its own setup, leadership style, and workflow. You could say every team has its own micro-culture. They operate with a high degree of autonomy and can be very different from one another—and that's exactly how we like it.

Different teams use different tools, and you’d be hard-pressed to find this level of freedom elsewhere. Each team defines its own culture based on the people in it. Some work from the office, others are fully remote. It makes no difference to us. Feel like coming into the office? Great. Prefer to work from home? Go for it. Bike to work? We’ve got showers and bike storage. Traveling? You can work from anywhere.

The options are broad. If you’re committed to pushing our products forward, you'll find a way of working that makes sense for you and your team.

TEAMS AS THE CORNERSTONE

Our teams are the fundamental building blocks of Braiins. The vast majority of our results originate within them. Each team is responsible for its own outcomes and defines its own workflow based on what they’re working on.

While other companies get stuck in endless information hand-offs that lead to ineffective meetings where nothing gets done, we take a different approach. Our teams are given maximum autonomy and the authority to solve problems on their own.

A problem is only escalated or shared between teams when it can't be solved at the source. The primary goal is always to find a solution as close as possible to where the issue originated: right within the team.

Here, you'll find a minimum of rules, processes, or manuals. We don’t pigeonhole people or force them into predefined roles. Each team creates the environment that makes the most sense for them to succeed.

There are few principles—you don't need many when the hierarchy is flat. Everyone talks to each other as equals, you can say anything, and there's no bureaucracy or taboo subjects.

Jerry Langer, Software Engineer

The people here are hard workers; they're truly passionate about what they do. And when something goes wrong, they all pull together and give 110%.

Martina Vyhnálková, HR Manager/ Recruiter

GOOD VIBES AND EDGY HUMOR

You join Braiins for the Bitcoin and technology, but you stay for the people. About a third of us come to the office, not out of obligation, but because we genuinely want to. We show up for the weekly breakfast, but mostly for the great conversations.

We skip the formalities, politics, and pretense. Everyone is free to be themselves and speak their mind, even if an opinion is controversial.

We run on memes and appreciate edgy, sometimes dark humor. Braiins is for people who want to work hard on what they love, while being part of a relaxed, open team that knows how to laugh.

BRAIINS KARLÍN

Our main office is in the Karlín district, just a short walk from the Křižíková metro station. The hub of our daily life is the large table in our open space. It’s where we have our team breakfasts on Tuesdays, where we work, eat lunch, and where the occasional spontaneous discussion club breaks out in the afternoon.

BRAIINS MINDSET

What I love is that the people here are just so good at what they do. I've never felt like I was part of such a competent team, and that blew me away at first. When I joined, I didn't consider myself a junior and thought I knew a fair bit already. Then I came here and realized there was still a ton to learn, and it's just been a wild ride.

Jerry Langer, Software Engineer

I get the sense that a lot of people here used to work for corporations, where you're just a number. If you don't fit in with the policies and processes, or if you want to make something more efficient, it's just not possible. Here, any opinion will ultimately be heard, as long as you're not afraid to stand up for it.

Iryna Bashkova, Support Team Leader

The people here are hard workers; they're truly passionate about what they do. And when something goes wrong, they all pull together and give 110%.

Martina Vyhnálková, HR Manager/ Recruiter

Interesting people who are reliable, efficient, and transparent at work, and this spills over into our personal lives. It means I'm happy to go for a beer with them, I look forward to the company breakfasts, and there are people here I genuinely enjoy talking with.

Lukáš Krejčí, CTO

We're a self-driven company. People here work because they genuinely want to. There's a sense that you're working on something bigger than yourself. It's not just about earning money for a holiday; we truly want to build something bigger together.

Kristian Csepcsar, CMO

BRAIINS FORGE ČESKOMORAVSKÁ

Braiins Forge is our separate hardware division. It's a small team specialized in HW development, based on Českomoravská street, near the Libeň train station. It’s a whole other world—a workshop where our devices are soldered, assembled, developed, and tested. Their weekly team breakfast is on Thursdays.

WE BUILD OUR OWN HARDWARE

Our ambition at Braiins is to be the world leader in Bitcoin mining, so developing our own miner was only a matter of time. Simply put, there was nothing on the market that met our standards.

We wanted to create a miner that was simple, functional, and quiet, with a timeless design so stylish you could place it in your living room. And we pulled it off. We launched our first miniminer last year, and the initial batch of 500 units sold out in under a week. That’s just the beginning—we have more products and innovations in the pipeline. We’re expanding our facilities and looking for more hardware enthusiasts to join our team and help us push the boundaries of what’s possible.

RUST AMBASSADORS

When we founded Braiins, Rust was still a niche programming language. But we saw its future. It allowed us to build everything from the ground up while providing a single, unified development environment for the entire company.

Today, we know it was the right call. Rust is a safe language, perfect for writing low-level technologies like operating systems. It’s strict, forcing you to write high-quality, sustainable code. And that’s exactly what we want. We are still huge fans of Rust and have no reason to change. Rust isn’t for everyone; it's not a language every junior developer knows. But if you’re ready to take the leap, we’ll teach you how to swim. And we guarantee you’ll grow to love it, just like we do.

Code culture – experience tells you that how you write your code will always come back to you. Six months later, when you're staring at that line of code, you'll be grateful for every commit message and comment you have there from your colleagues. You need to maintain code quality and some sort of culture, because otherwise, it will all fall apart in the future, and that's why Rust is great, because it helps you with that. It was great to see at the beginning how Rust pushes you towards relatively clean code and design.

Jan Čapek, Co-founder

MORAL INTEGRITY

We want Braiins to be a place for people with moral integrity. People who can align on fundamental principles and use them as a foundation for building good relationships.

A toxic atmosphere is simply not an option. We actively work to avoid it and cultivate an environment with positive energy. Of course, nobody's perfect—everyone has a bad day or reacts poorly sometimes. But those moments have to be the exception. The default state must be one of well-being and mutual respect.

As our founder Honza Čapek says, today Braiins is like "a eukaryotic cell"—a living organism that can defend itself from external pressures while staying true to what it is.

*Eukaryotic cell = a complex, organized, and highly adaptable system. It has its own defense mechanisms that allow it to recognize and neutralize external interference that could disrupt its internal equilibrium. (Author's note)

BROAD HORIZONS

Our scope is incredibly broad. Developing our own software and hardware is just the starting point.

We produce our own merch, shape our brand with an in-house design team. We write, translate, and publish books under our own label, Braiins Publishing. And we are deeply committed to community education

As our CTO puts it, “It’s a huge opportunity and a curse at the same time.” We want to excel at everything we do, and that takes a massive amount of effort.

This makes Braiins the perfect place for people still exploring their path, as well as for those ready to grow, change fields, or try something new. The opportunities here are vast, and finding a new role within the company is always an option.

We have a colleague who's very experienced in Rust and runs courses on a voluntary basis. For example, anyone who wants to learn soldering can come to our Českomoravská office. If you're passionate and find 'your thing,' you can learn it here.

František Prášek, Production Team Leader

Braiins has always been very flexible with me in terms of what I'm good at, what I enjoy, and what I want to focus on at any given time. That's something you don't often find in other companies.

Lukáš Hozda, IT Education Methodologist
