Java Tech Lead

Realpad is a technology partner for Europe’s forward-looking real estate developers. For over 10 years, we have developed an end-to-end platform that streamlines the complex process of selling newly built homes—covering everything from the initial project launch to the end of the warranty period.

We are a profitable, product-oriented company that helps over 150 customers improve the lives of tens of thousands of people. We have a stable business and a tight-knit development team of 8 people.

Like any mature platform, we're balancing ongoing feature development with strategic modernization initiatives.

We are not looking for a people manager. We are looking for a high-level technical strategist who loves to write code. We need someone with the experience to guide technical decisions across both new product development and platform evolution.

You will act as the technical compass for the team. You won't just draw diagrams in an "ivory tower"; you will be in the trenches, writing code, building features, and establishing patterns that the rest of the team will follow.

Your technical agenda will include (for example):

• Feature Development: Leading technical design and implementation of new product capabilities and customer-facing features.
• Architecture Strategy: Deciding on the future structure of our codebase and defining our Cloud utilization strategy.
• API & Data: Designing the strategy for internal/external APIs and managing database evolution.
• Operational Maturity: Implementing reliability, observability, visualization, and alerting standards.
• Platform Evolution: Guiding strategic modernization initiatives like Spring Boot adoption where they deliver the most value.
• Security: Overseeing authentication and authorization flows and implementing new ones (e.g. Keycloak).

We are looking for someone with the seniority and experience to find the right answers for our specific context.

• You are Pragmatic: You understand that "state-of-the-art" must be balanced with business needs and delivery speed.

• 8+ years of professional Java development experience, with at least 3 years in technical leadership or senior architect roles.
• Deep expertise in Java and the Spring Ecosystem, including hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
• Proven track record of leading platform migrations or modernization initiatives (e.g., framework upgrades, refactoring legacy systems).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and deployment strategies.
• Demonstrated success in balancing technical excellence with rapid product delivery.
• Strong understanding of API design, database evolution, and operational practices (observability, monitoring, alerting).
• English proficiency is a must (we work internationally).
• Czech language skills are a plus, but not required.

• Salary: 140k – 180k CZK / month (invoiced).
